Person Driven Practice - The ApplicationPerson driven practice facilitates opportunities for each person to establish their own unique vision of a good life and identify a network of natural supports to assist them to realise their vision. In each person driven interaction there is a dynamic partnership between the person, their chosen natural supports, and the facilitator. A key point of difference of person driven practice is the critical shift in the locus of power from the traditional holder of that power, the service provider, to the person. Therefore in any person driven interaction:
The person and their chosen natural supports may also interface with a community connector to facilitate interactions that will establish relationships and build natural supports within the local community. Person driven practice recognises that meaningful relationships are foundational to personal and collective wellbeing. Person driven practice is different for everyone and every situation. |
