FAMILY LIAISON

Interactionz values the central role families/whanau play in the lives of their family member.

The development of relationships and an empathy with family/whanau is a fundamental cornerstone of person driven facilitation. The position of Family Liaison plays a pivotal role as a direct link between families/whanau and Interactionz.

Family Liaison is able to bring the family/whanau perspective to leadership decision making.

Maree’s role is

• To work with families to understand their concerns and wishes regarding Interactionz.
• To organise family forums where particular issues can be discussed and resolved.
• To keep families informed regarding individual issues and wider organisational issues.
• Families have expressed a need to be supported to make decisions about how to transition their son or daughter from school. While there are specific services designed to work with the person, most don’t focus exclusively on the family. The family/Whanau role is a resource for schools to access
