Tell us about yourself? I’m the CEO of Interactionz and have been in the organisation since 1998.
What did you hope to get from participating in the storytelling workshop? An understanding of what digital storytelling was and to see how digital storytelling would be an opportunity for people to use digital storytelling as a way to tell their stories. I was open minded about it being research to find out what the value would be.
Why did you choose this particular story to tell? Because I knew that I wouldn’t in that space of time [the three day workshop] be able to tell the whole story of the journey so chose instead to tell the essence of what gives my work meaning.
How have you changed as a result of telling and making your story? I felt vulnerable and exposed and at the same time felt proud to expose a part of myself that I wouldn’t normally expose to the public arena.
How do you think this experience will impact your journey? I’ve already started to think about more stories to tell, and I’m keeping a journal of things that happen that in the future may become stories. Digital storytelling is definitely a medium that resonates with me and although I’ve seen the stories five times, I see and hear different things every time I see them. They’re powerful.
