STUDY ZONE

SPEC courses have been written in New Zealand, by New Zealand Teachers to support the New Zealand National Curriculum, and in particular the development of Key Competencies. These courses also support learning beyond school and into the adult community. SPEC offers unit standard accreditation at levels 1, 2, 3 and some opportunities at level 4.

Headway Courses

These courses are post 16 through to adulthood. The individual modules are categorised into Life Skills, Environment, Leisure and Vocational areas. Each module contains four sections. This course also encourages the development and demonstration of key competencies

Ready for Work

This course is aimed at students/clients who are in a work experience placement or who are at work. The sections prepare for the placement as well as record the actual placement and include a health and safety section.

Why does Interactionz provide the SPEC programme?

The SPEC teaching and learning programme provides foundation skills and covers a wide range of learning areas all of which are designed to lead to increased independence, participation and social inclusion. Moreover, it comprises a multi-faceted approach which combines a variety of teaching and learning methods.

This is an NZQA approved course. The level of this course is set at a ‘pre entry’ level. Specific requirements are required for successful certification.
