Lynda has been with Interactionz since January 1999. One of the reasons she is passionate about the organisation is because of the rewards she gets from seeing the lives of people transform from being dependant on services, to being self-determining. She has also loved the challenge of leading the transformation from being a traditional sheltered workshop to an innovative organisation that is leading the way in its work. Lynda feels very fortunate to work with an inspiring board, leadership team and loyal staff and volunteers.
Lynda’s background is in customer services, and prior to coming to Interactionz, she managed the Nawton Community Centre. She has also served on a number of community boards over the years. Lynda holds a Bachelor of Applied Management, majoring in Strategy, and a Graduate Diploma in Not for Profit Management. She has also completed numerous courses during her career.
Travelling is also a passion for Lynda, and her most memorable travel experiences have included; cycling over 1500 kms through Germany and Austria along the Danube, trekking in Nepal, and most recently walking over 800 kms on the Camino de Santiago. When she is not travelling, she also enjoys exercising and keep fit. Living in Cambridge inspires her to walk rather than drive to the shops or to get a coffee.
Lynda’s family is very important to her, and she feels very lucky to live around the corner from two of her daughters and five grandchildren. Her other daughter lives in Hamilton so she gets to see her and her other three grandchildren regularly as well. She is also fortunate to have both her parents still alive and well and living in Hamilton.
When she is not working, travelling, exercising or spending time with family and friends, she loves blobbing out in front of the television or reading a good book.
